We're Suing the U.S. Air Force and National Air & Space Intelligence Center for UAP Videos
The National Air and Space Intelligence Center claims it possesses no videos of unidentified anomalous phenomena. The UAPR is challenging this claim in federal court.
The U.S. Air Force (USAF) has historically been resistant to transparency around the issue of unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UFOs, as Christopher Mellon, a former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and current UAP transparency advocate, wrote in a compelling 2022 analysis titled ‘Why is the U.S. Air Force AWOL on the UAP Issue?’.
Today, the UAP Register started pushing for greater transparency from the Air Force on this issue. That’s why we initiated a lawsuit in federal court against the USAF after the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) stonewalled our FOIA request for nearly one year. Our objective is to obtain high-quality military videos capturing unidentified anomalous phenomena and share them with the public. You can read the complaint below:
The UAPR is bringing this action in part due to the fact that Congress requires the NASIC to collect UAP data; the FY 2022 Intelligence Authorization Act mandates that the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defense require “…each IC [Intelligence Community] element and the Department of Defense to make data relating to unidentified aerial phenomena available immediately to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force and the National Air and Space Intelligence Center.” [Emphasis added]. Some of this data includes video footage of anomalous phenomena.
This lawsuit against the USAF follows another case we filed last year against the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for its failure to turn over records related to UAP. That litigation is likely nearing its conclusion.
We will continue to aggressively pursue access to UAP information that belongs to you, the public.
